And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Trevor Barnes!
The judges for this bout are Saam Ante, Wagner Zegers and Albert Achterberg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Houses fails with a takedown attempt from distance.

Barnes throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

and Houses counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Houses fails to land the takedown.
Houses throws a sloppy head kick and Barnes moves out of range easily.
Houses swings for the body but Barnes moves out of range.

and Houses counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Barnes is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Houses tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Barnes manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Barnes throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Houses lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Barnes circles away quickly and effectively.
Houses shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Barnes pinned against the cage. Barnes gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Houses moves into range and clinches up with Barnes.
Houses prevents a takedown attempt there.
Houses slowing the pace effectively.

and Barnes counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Barnes wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.

Barnes is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Houses.

Houses fails with a takedown attempt.
Barnes throws out a loose jab but Houses uses good head movement to avoid it.
Houses changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Barnes tries to avoid it but Houses manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Barnes to the ground. Barnes escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
The fighters circling - Barnes throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

Houses takes a head kick and keeps coming.

Houses closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Barnes to the mat! Barnes manages to get full guard.

and Barnes cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Houses, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
