Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jorge Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ken Bondo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jorge Smith!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ken Bondo!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Daniel Franklin and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bondo throws a jab when Smith was well out of range.
No luck for Smith with that takedown attempt.

Bondo gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Smith to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Bondo is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Smith throwing strikes from guard but Bondo blocks nicely.
Smith postures up in Bondo's guard and throws a big left but Bondo blocks it.

Bondo throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Smith passes Bondo's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Smith seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

Smith is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!

Smith moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Bondo has worked his arm free - good work by Bondo!
Smith lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Smith scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Bondo to see if he's OK.

Smith is looking to take a break and control but Bondo is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Bondo can do anything to dispel that myth.
Bondo is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Bondo is looking for a sweep. Smith is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Smith seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Bondo does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Bondo should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Well, if Smith is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Bondo is refusing to be controlled, as Smith sits in half guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Jorge Smith just wasn't active enough.

Bondo closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Smith is trying to control Bondo's posture but Bondo avoids it.

Bondo wants to control for a moment but Smith uses the opportunity to move back to half guard.

Smith keeping moving, preventing Bondo from controlling successfully.
Smith will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Bondo would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Smith pulls Bondo in close to prevent any damage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Smith closes the distance and clinches up with Bondo, looking for a takedown. Smith pushes Bondo against the cage but Bondo circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Smith leaves Bondo with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Bondo gets caught napping as Smith dives in and scores a takedown. Bondo manages to retain guard.
Smith lands a couple of elbows.

Smith controls from within his opponent's guard.
Smith wants to control from the top but Bondo keeps moving.

Bondo is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Smith has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Bondo pushes Smith off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.

Jorge Smith overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Bondo takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Ken Bondo.
Smith fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Bondo throws a low kick but Smith avoids it.
Bondo pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Ken Bondo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Bondo tries a head kick but it misses.
Bondo circles away from the clinch attempt.
Bondo shoots in for a double leg but Smith sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Bondo gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Smith postures up and lands a big shot to Bondo's brow.

Smith wants to control from the top but Bondo keeps moving.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

That's time! Smith's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!



Bondo takes the fight into the clinch.

Bondo breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Bondo shoots in and drives through. Smith sprawls well.

Smith is looking to take this one to the mat.
Smith is defending well against a takedown attempt.

Smith gets a trip takedown into half guard.
Smith content to control rather than advance.
Smith works his foot free and advances to mount.
Bondo takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Smith landing punches.
Smith lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
Smith is landing with some decent strikes but Bondo is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Smith lands a big shot there that rocks Bondo but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Smith tries to control but Bondo wriggling away.
Smith scores with a couple of good head shots there.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Smith cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Bondo wants to control but Smith is having none of it.
Smith connects with a bit shot that sees Bondo covering up! More strikes from Smith and the referee jumps in to stop the fight! Smith is our winner by TKO!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:27 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jorge Smith!
