Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Teddy Bass!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Francisco Ja Ara!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, Winston Howard and Donatello Bradman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bass throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Ja Ara takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Bass shoots in but Ja Ara avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Bass avoids the head kick by Ja Ara.
Ja Ara misses with a body kick.
Bass fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
A shot to the liver by Bass. Beautiful body shot.
Bass scores with a hook.
A head kick misses from Ja Ara.
Ja Ara uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Bass.
Ja Ara misses with a body shot.

Bass shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Ja Ara is trying to defend but Bass finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Bass thows a huge punch but Ja Ara dodges it nicely.

Bass stalling away here and it's allowed Ja Ara to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Bass is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Bass lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Bass wants to control from the top but Ja Ara keeps moving.
Ja Ara tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Bass has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Bass throws an elbow that misses. Ja Ara uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Bass's guard. Nice move by Ja Ara!

Bass has his foot on Ja Ara's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Ja Ara works his way back into a safe position though.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Bass working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Ja Ara doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Ja Ara manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Bass is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Bass pulls Ja Ara in close to prevent any damage.
Ja Ara with a flurry of punches that miss.
Ja Ara looking to sit in guard and control but Bass gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Ja Ara is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Bass is controlling him.
Bass missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.

Ja Ara keeping moving, preventing Bass from controlling successfully.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Bass accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Bass wants to control from the top but Ja Ara keeps moving.
Bass pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Ja Ara is keeping the position for now.
Ja Ara throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.

Bass is working for a kimura but Ja Ara is defending it quite comfortably.
Bass is looking to take a break and control but Ja Ara is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.



Bass closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Ja Ara regains half guard, as Bass was trying to land strikes.

Bass is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Ja Ara doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Bass.
Ja Ara tries to get to full guard but Bass has control of the leg.
Bass prevents Ja Ara from standing back up.

Bass throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Bass throws a big elbow that misses, also allowing Ja Ara to regain full guard.

Bass seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Bass is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Ja Ara has momentary wrist control but Bass slips an elbow through the middle.
Bass stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Ja Ara swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Bass looking to sit in guard and control but Ja Ara gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Ja Ara working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

Ja Ara is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Bass has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Ja Ara is looking to defend but Bass has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Ja Ara! Bass pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Ja Ara taps out and this one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:56 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Teddy Bass!
