Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between John Hesy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kale Sunnin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters really staring each other down here, as Kale Sunnin enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, John Hesy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Kale Sunnin!
The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Ren Mimura and Yasuomi Hirokawa.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sunnin walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Sunnin uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Hesy.
Hesy misses with a double jab
and Sunnin counters with a nice uppercut.
Hesy throws a looping overhand right but Sunnin ducks down to avoid it.
Sunnin misses with the combination.
John Hesy seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Sunnin throws a right and a left that Hesy avoids nicely.
Hesy is looking to clinch.
Hesy misses with a telegraphed body shot

and Sunnin counters with a nice double leg into guard.

Sunnin postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Kale Sunnin.
Hesy works the jab nicely.
Hesy throws an overhand right that lands on Sunnin's shoulder, as Sunnin tries to avoid the shot.
Hesy swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Hesy lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.

Hesy scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.

Sunnin drives through with a takedown into Hesy's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Sunnin passes Hesy's right leg, so he's now in half guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Sunnin takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Hesy is working to get back to half guard.
Sunnin controlling his opponent.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

It looks like Sunnin might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

Kale Sunnin has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
A right-left combo lands from Sunnin.
Hesy misses with a wild combination.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Sloppy strikes from Sunnin. Those never looked like landing.

Sunnin looking for a takedown here - he's got it.

Hesy pushes Sunnin up against the cage in a clinch.
Hesy gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Sunnin.
Sunnin tries for a takedown but Hesy manages to get underhooks.

Hesy cracks Sunnin with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.

The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.

John Hesy is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Sunnin tries to clinch there but Hesy circles away.

and Sunnin takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Sunnin tries to bum rush Hesy with a series of wild strikes but Hesy uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Hesy bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Sunnin tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Hesy counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

Sunnin drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Hesy tries to bench press Sunnin off him but Sunnin keeps the position.
Sunnin controls the position from side control.
Sunnin creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Hesy sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
Hesy pushes Sunnin away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Sunnin gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

Kale Sunnin has got the better of the ground game so far.
Sunnin's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
You can see the frustration on Hesy's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Sunnin scores with a couple of short elbows.
Hesy struggling a bit here.
Sunnin controls the position from side control.
Sunnin is chipping away with strikes.
This has been an exciting period of action!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

A close second round but Kale Sunnin will probably get the nod - 10:9.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! And we move into the final round!

Nice uppercut lands for Hesy. That snapped Sunnin's head back.
Sunnin will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Sunnin tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Hesy manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Hesy throws a lazy right hand but Sunnin sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Sunnin closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Hesy's guard.
Sunnin is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Hesy wants to stand but Sunnin is controlling the position.
John Hesy has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Sunnin slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

John Hesy showed his dominance in that final round.
