Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Joonatan Valasvatsa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chris The Great (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 7 - 1, fighting out of London, Joonatan Valasvatsa!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Chris The Great!
The judges for this bout are William Gold, Steven Brown and Richard Clark.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Valasvatsa throws a quick inside leg kick.
Valasvatsa thows a body shot but no joy.
The Great avoids the head kick by Valasvatsa.
Valasvatsa fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but The Great avoids it really well and circles away.

The Great drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Valasvatsa is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
The Great wants to control from the top but Valasvatsa keeps moving.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The Great stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Valasvatsa swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Valasvatsa has gone for a leg lock! The Great slips out almost immediately though and dives into Valasvatsa's guard.

Valasvatsa escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. The Great gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

The Great drops back looking for a leg! Valasvatsa is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Valasvatsa manages to kick The Great off! The Great jumps back into Valasvatsa's guard.
The Great wants to control from the top but Valasvatsa keeps moving.

Valasvatsa controls The Great momentarily but The Great frees himself.

The Great drops back looking for a leg! Valasvatsa is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Valasvatsa manages to kick The Great off! The Great jumps back into Valasvatsa's guard.

Valasvatsa wants to sweep here but The Great controlling him for the moment.

Valasvatsa had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. The Great defends it easily.

Valasvatsa isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. The Great stacks Valasvatsa on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by The Great!

The Great working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Valasvatsa is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Chris The Great will probably get the nod - 10:9.

and Valasvatsa counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Valasvatsa jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Valasvatsa pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Valasvatsa fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.

The Great uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Valasvatsa.

The Great avoids a low kick by using good footwork.

The Great not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

The Great shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.

The Great looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Valasvatsa tries to roll over but The Great keeps him under control.
Valasvatsa is looking to get back to full guard here but The Great has managed to pass to side control instead.
Valasvatsa is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Chris The Great is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
