The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A low kick from Lose is predictable there

and Smith counters with a single leg into guard. Lose didn't expect that.
Smith slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Smith controls the position.
Smith working the head and body with strikes.

Smith decides to stand back up.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Smith fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Lose to the ground. Smith is now in Lose's guard.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Smith's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Smith looking to control the position here, rather than advance.

Smith stands up from guard. Let's bang!

That's one minute gone in the round.

Smith closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Lose's guard.
Smith will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Smith throws a big right hand that misses.

Smith stands and steps away. Lose gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Smith throws a quick inside leg kick.
Lose is sent reeling backwards by a solid uppercut. He barely regains his balance and Smith moves in for the kill throwing a continuous barrage of punches that force the ref to step in.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:35 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Carl Smith!
