John is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Roy Jones Jr. Must have forgot.. Machette Gashiko could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Big John's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Machette Gashiko!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 25 - 15 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Big John!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Daniel Franklin and Chris Downing.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
John misses with a low kick as Gashiko jumps back.
Jab, jab by Gashiko - just one landing.
Gashiko tries to close the distance and clinch but John swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
John dips to his left and cracks Gashiko with an uppercut!


It looks like Machette Gashiko has been cut.

Gashiko closes the distance and clinches.
Gashiko misses with a punch on the inside.

Gashiko breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Gashiko throws a jab but it's blocked by John.
John waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Gashiko.
John misses with a low kick.
John fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
John throws a hook but Gashiko avoids it easily.
John misses with a low kick.
John misses with a wild body shot.

That's one minute gone in the round.

John drives through with a takedown into guard.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Gashiko looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
John is looking to work some ground and pound but Gashiko has wrist control.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells John's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

John stands up and waves to Gashiko to follow him.
Big John seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
John throws a low kick but Gashiko moves out of range easily.
Gashiko pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Gashiko checks a low kick from John.

John shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. John showed some decent athleticism there.
John blocks the strikes from Gashiko.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Gashiko is looking to improve his position.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. John connects with a nice short shot to Gashiko's temple.

Gashiko wants to control but John is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Gashiko is trying to defend against the ground and pound but John scores with a couple of nice shots.

Gashiko has hold of John's hands but John slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
John prevents Gashiko from improving his position.

John distracts Gashiko with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Gashiko is breathing heavily.

John with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.

John has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
John controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

John is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Big John dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Machette Gashiko's cut.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


John lands a body shot.
Gashiko seems to have got his legs back now.
John has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
John fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Gashiko has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
A nice leg kick lands there from John.
John pushes Gashiko away with a front kick.
A decent looking body kick lands there for John.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
John buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Nice takedown defense from Gashiko. No joy for John on that attempt.

John lands a big head kick that sends Gashiko tumbling to the mat! John takes a step backwards and waves Gashiko back to his feet - he wants the finish!
A good leg kick by John.
John lands a brutal head kick. Gashiko looks out on his feet and John throws more strikes until the ref is forced to stop the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:56 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Kick and Punches). Big John!
