PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Yamato Damashii (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jean Luc Picard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Damashii might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Ciemna Strefa. Picard has chosen The Picard Song as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Picard cracks Damashii with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Damashii shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Picard but Picard pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Picard rushes Damashii and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Damashii pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Picard throws a lazy right hand but Damashii sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Damashii fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Picard scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Damashii doesn't seem bothered though.
Damashii on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Damashii throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Picard lands a head shot.
Damashii takes one to the side of the head.
Damashii gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Picard counters with a lovely shot to the body.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Yamato Damashii. That's going to take a lot out of him.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Picard connects with a single shot there.

Picard shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Picard tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Damashii tries to lock up and control but Picard gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Damashii has given up his back. Will we see Picard going for some submissions?
Damashii wants to control his opponent's hands but Picard gets his hands free.

Picard is working the back position looking for the choke. Oh, he's slid into an armbar! Beautiful transition and Damashii taps out! Fantastic Jiu Jitsu from Picard.
