Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Gus White (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Maximillion Butler (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Butler is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Comeback Kid. Maximillion Butler has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Gus White's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Gus White!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Maximillion Butler!
The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, Eliza Hachem and Hugh Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Butler will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

White darts in and clinches Butler up against the cage.
Butler throws a knee to the head but misses.
Butler fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Butler creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses.

White pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
White tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Butler throws an uppercut from half a mile away. White sees it coming and avoids it easily.
White throws a nice outside leg kick.
Butler throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

and White counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
A body shot lands from White.
Butler drops down looking for an ankle pick but White pulls his leg out and moves away.
White keeps Butler at a distance using the push kick.

That's one minute gone in the round.
White scores with a nice right hand.
Butler keeps the fight on the outside.
Butler checks a low kick from White.
White connects with a single shot there.
Butler takes one to the side of the head.
White lands with a nice combination. Butler backs away looking to recover.
Butler throws a looping overhand right but White ducks down to avoid it.
Butler gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Gus White is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Butler gets a takedown into half guard.

White manages to get to full guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Butler in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Butler postures up in White's guard and throws a big left but White blocks it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Butler trying to control the position from guard on top but White is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Butler loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Butler throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.

Butler throwing strikes but missing.
White wants to stand and escape but Butler is having none of it.
White looking to control.
Butler stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. White swivels though and keeps the full guard.
White seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
White avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
White looking to control.
White knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Butler on the ground.

We're going to have a standup here because Gus White wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
White looks to land a combination. Butler sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
White tries to close the distance and clinch up but Butler swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Butler throws the kick towards the body but White avoids it.
Nice uppercut lands for White. That snapped Butler's head back.
White slaps away a takedown attempt from Butler, before circling back to the center of the mat.
White lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
White throws a body kick that misses.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Butler circles away from the clinch attempt.
White lands an overhand right.
White scores with a nice head shot.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Gus White dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


White is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

White throws a leg kick but Butler sees it coming and moves out of range.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
White motions for Butler to come forward. White throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.

White clinches up with Butler and pushes him back against the cage.

White escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
White moves in looking to clinch but Butler pushes him off.
White dips to his left and cracks Butler with an uppercut!

Butler tries to bum rush White with a series of wild strikes but White uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Butler closes the distance and lands a one-two.
White throws the kick towards the body but Butler avoids it.
Butler avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
Butler on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by White. White obviously looking to wear him down.
White lands a jab to the head.

Butler misses with a body kick.
Sloppy strikes from White. Those never looked like landing.
Butler throws a left and a right that both miss
and White counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
White connects with a right hand. Butler shakes it off.
Butler walks into a jab.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Butler throws a body kick, spinning off balance
and White counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Butler thinking.
White looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
White throws out a leg kick but Butler moves out of range and White only half commits.
White thows a left - swing and a miss!
Butler moves out of range of the leg kick from White.

White scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
White tests Butler's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Nice shot by White.
Butler fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but White avoids it really well and circles away.
White connects with a solid leg kick.
Butler misses with the combination.
White throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

White instigates a clinch.
White is trying to force a seperation but Butler has the dominant position.
Still in the clinch, White scores with a nice short uppercut.
Butler is trying to stall.
A right hand to the body from White.
White lands with a short shot to the head.
White lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
White throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

White manages to break the clinch.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
White throws a series of punches but Butler avoids them all with ease.
Gus White is winning the standup battle so far.
White feints and then cracks Butler's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Butler down.
Butler throws a jab when White was well out of range.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Gus White dominated that second round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!


White cracks Butler with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
White misses with a straight right.
Butler on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
White throws the left hand but Butler avoids the punch easily.
White throws a low kick but Butler moves out of range easily.
Butler looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
White wants to clinch.
White throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.

White bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.
Butler takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
White misses with a series of wild punches.
Gus White seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Butler is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in White's half guard.
White is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Butler scores with a couple of nice shots.
Butler throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
White pushes Butler off but Butler dives into side control.
White is looking for a sweep.

You can see the frustration on White's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Butler misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Butler throws a strike aimed at the side of White's head but White avoids it well.
Butler scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at White to see if he's OK.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
White avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Butler.

Butler has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Butler seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

Butler throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
White tries to kick Butler off but Butler keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Butler is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
White regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Butler.
Butler postures up.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
White pulls Butler in to control the position.
Maximillion Butler has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Maximillion Butler has got the better of the ground game so far.
White wants to get back to his feet but Butler is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Maximillion Butler.
I think White has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
