Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Alex Rua (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pacman Barnes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Barnes has chosen Black Eyed Peas - Imma Be as his entrance music. Barnes has a pretty significant injury - he really shouldn't be fighting right now but he's a warrior and he's here none the less! These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rua cracks the inside of Barnes's front leg.
Barnes looks gassed!
Barnes takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Rua feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Barnes's calf.
Rua has a takedown stuffed.
Rua throws a low kick but Barnes avoids it.

Rua darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

Rua takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Rua slips a nice elbow through Barnes's hands, connecting with Barnes's forehead.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Rua trying to pass the guard but Barnes defending well.
Rua seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Rua throwing shots but Barnes is blocking nicely.

Rua in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Barnes tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Rua!

A relieved looking Alex Rua thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
