Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Buffalo Ushijima (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Blake The Snake (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Buffalo Ushijima has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Buffalo Ushijima!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 9 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Blake The Snake!
The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Hirohito Nitta and Tatsuya Matsuyama.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ushijima shoots for a double leg takedown but The Snake sprawls well. He's pushed Ushijima's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Ushijima closes the distance looking to clinch

and The Snake holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Ushijima stalling in the clinch but The Snake improves position.

Ushijima looks to throw an elbow but misses.
Ushijima is looking to break free of the clinch but The Snake has double underhooks.

The Snake jumps into guard, dragging Ushijima to the mat.
Ushijima keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of The Snake's head.
Ushijima looking to sit in guard and control but The Snake gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Ushijima is breathing heavily.
The Snake slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

The Snake gets to his feet. Ushijima looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Buffalo Ushijima seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Ushijima misses the body punch

and The Snake decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Ushijima's guard.

Ushijima is working an open guard so The Snake takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Ushijima is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by The Snake.

Ushijima is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The Snake drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

The Snake wants to control from the top but Ushijima keeps moving.
The Snake is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Blake The Snake hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
The fight stays on the outside here - Ushijima looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

The Snake has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Ushijima uses from the top position.

Horrible takedown by Ushijima or perhaps it was just good defense by The Snake which made him look bad.
Ushijima stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Ushijima wants it to stay on the feet.

The Snake darts in and clinches Ushijima up against the cage.

The Snake has picked Ushijima up - he's going for a ride! The Snake dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
Well, if The Snake is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Ushijima is trying to control but The Snake manages to pass to mount!

The Snake tries to control but Ushijima wriggling away.
Ushijima is looking to improve his position but The Snake isn't that keen on the idea.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

The Snake takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!

The Snake shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Ushijima pinned against the cage. Ushijima gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
The Snake fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

The Snake wants to work for an arm triangle but Ushijima is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
The Snake lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
The Snake moves into full mount! Ushijima won't be happy about that!

The Snake tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

The Snake manages to capitalize on a mistake by Ushijima to take his back!
The Snake tries to get the hooks in deep but Ushijima pushed the leg off.
The Snake is looking cool and calm here, just waiting for a good opportunity to attack and finish the fight from this dominant position.

Ushijima knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for The Snake on the ground.
The Snake lands a couple of good shots to his opponent's body and a final shot to the head. Good little attack there by The Snake.

Ushijima breaks The Snake's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.

The Snake pushes Ushijima off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Ushijima tries to sprawl but The Snake drives through with a takedown into half guard.
The Snake prevents Ushijima from improving his position.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
The Snake is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.

Blake The Snake comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well The Snake has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
