Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Mark Munoz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Michael Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Mark Munoz!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Michael Jones!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Ian Loll and William Peck.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Munoz looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Munoz looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Jones is fending him off so far but Munoz persists. Nope, Jones circles away and we're back to standing.
Jones connects with a right hand. Munoz shakes it off.
Jones throws a nice looking combination but Munoz bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Munoz on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Jones. Jones obviously looking to wear him down.

Munoz scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Jones is looking to escape.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Munoz is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Jones sees it coming and defends easily.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Jones scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but Munoz manages to mount him!

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Munoz jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Jones is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Jones and Munoz has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
Munoz cracks Jones with a big right hand but Jones just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Munoz trying to control the action but Jones is working from the bottom.

Jones sneaks out the side door and pushes Munoz away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.

Jones drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Jones lands a nice forearm strike.
Jones lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Munoz down.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Jones in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.
Munoz parries the strikes from Jones easily there. Jones is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Munoz to escape.
Jones tries to score with some ground and pound. Munoz controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
Munoz wings away with a couple of strikes but they don't land.
You can see the frustration on Munoz's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Jones working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
Munoz on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Munoz tries to get out of the position.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

and Munoz counters with a shoot takedown. Jones fights it but they end up in guard.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Munoz tries to bench press Jones off him but Jones keeps the position.
Jones works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
Jones cracks Munoz with an elbow. That is naaassty.

Jones goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Munoz rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Jones's guard! Nice work there by Munoz!
Jones is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Jones is breathing heavily.
Jones working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Munoz.
Munoz wants to stand but Jones is controlling his posture from full guard.
Jones wants to stand but Munoz is controlling the position.

Munoz trying to control but Jones is working from the bottom.

Jones wriggles free and stands up.
Munoz tries to clinch up but Jones circles away and keeps his distance.
Munoz showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Jones.

Munoz fails to land with a series of punches.
Michael Jones seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Jones drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Munoz is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Jones off and has taken his back!

The crowd hopeful of a finish here - Munoz's supporters are on their feet, screaming for him to go for the rear naked choke.

Jones is trying to get back to his feet but Munoz has full control of the position and if anything, Jones has just worked his way into a worse spot.

Michael Jones showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Jones throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Munoz shoots in for a takedown but Jones shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Jones closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Munoz tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Jones tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Jones has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Jones passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Munoz!

Munoz trying desperately to get to his feet.

Munoz regains half guard.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Jones lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Munoz has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Jones is working away from the top position though.

Jones is trying for a kimura here. Munoz looks like he's in a lot of pain... and he's tapping out! Jones wins by kimura!
