Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 12 - 0, fighting out of London, Luis Helguera!
The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, William Gold and Andrew Berry.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Johnson has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Johnson there as he acknowledges the shot.


It looks like Tj Johnson has been cut.

Johnson decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Johnson is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Johnson is working for a kimura but Helguera is defending it quite comfortably.

Helguera is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Johnson pulls his head out easily.
Johnson prevents Helguera from improving his position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Helguera is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

Johnson is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Helguera looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.

Johnson wants to work for an arm triangle but Helguera is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Johnson seems to be working for a kimura but Helguera defends the submission attempt.
Helguera trying to hold on to Johnson's head to control him but Johnson postures up.

Johnson is looking for a kimura but Helguera is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Johnson to get the leverage.

Helguera wants to improve his position but Johnson is controlling well.
Johnson stops Helguera from getting back to his feet.

Johnson is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Helguera is just riding it out for now. Johnson eventually gives up the hold.
Helguera tries to roll over but Johnson keeps him under control.

Johnson is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Helguera has managed to free his arm - good work.
Helguera is looking to improve his position.

Helguera is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Johnson pulls his head out easily.

Helguera wants to get back to full guard.

Johnson is looking for a kimura here.

Johnson is working for a kimura from half guard. He's really concentrating on the hold and it's allowed Helguera to slip a leg under and get back to full guard.
Johnson is breathing heavily.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Helguera trying to keep a closed guard but Johnson is proving a slippery customer.

A close round but Luis Helguera will probably get the nod.

Helguera misses with a takedown attempt - Johnson sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Helguera cracks a nice hook into Johnson's ribs.
Tj Johnson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Helguera misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Helguera tries to score a power double leg takedown but Johnson sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Helguera somewhat.

Johnson closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Helguera did well to prevent Johnson getting side control.

Johnson is looking for a kimura. It's pretty deep but Helguera still has the half guard so he's probably OK. Oh, Helguera has exploded into a beautiful escape there and after a quick scramble, he's ended up in side control on top! Nice work!

Helguera is working to tighten is grip on Johnson's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Johnson has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Helguera is really squeezing tight and eventually Johnson passes out! Helguera breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
