The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Wilson wants to pass the guard but Jones is keeping the position.

Wilson is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Jones sees it coming and defends easily.

Wilson is looking to work some ground and pound but Jones has wrist control.
Jones utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Jones is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Wilson accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Wilson tries to free his leg and advance position but Jones is retaining full guard.

Jones tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Wilson presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount!
Jones bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Jones manages to work his way to half guard, despite Wilson's best efforts.

Wilson winds up and cracks Jones with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
