Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between John Goldman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dante Durant (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). John Goldman looks tired to me. Hopefully he has got enough gas left in the tank to put in a good performance.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Dante Durant!
The judges for this bout are Jeff Smith, Roger Salmon and Colin Fray.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sloppy strikes from Durant. Those never looked like landing.

Durant moves into the clinch successfully.
Durant is pressed up against the ropes. Goldman has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Durant down to the mat. Durant avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Goldman fails with the takedown
and Durant counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Durant stuffs the takedown.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for John Goldman. That's going to take a lot out of him.
No joy there for Durant, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Durant looks to land a combination but Goldman avoids it well.
Goldman tries to clinch but Durant moves out of range.
Durant throws a series of strikes that have Goldman backpedaling.
Durant cracks Goldman with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the ropes.

Durant shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Goldman's guard.
Goldman is breathing heavily.
Goldman wants to stand up but Durant is controlling him.
Goldman wants to hit a switch here but Durant passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Goldman there!

Durant trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Durant looking to control and managing it successfully.
Goldman is trying to escape the mount.

Durant has control of Goldman's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Goldman regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Durant is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Goldman is surviving well by controlling Durant's body position as best he can.

Goldman is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

Durant working for a submission but Goldman is keeping him at bay.
Goldman is in all sorts of trouble here.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Durant wants to control the pace but Goldman is squirming around nicely.
Durant really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Goldman. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Goldman is looking to get to half guard.

Durant working for a submission here. He's tucked his head under his opponent's arm, looking for an arm triangle. He's hopped off into side control, looking to tighten the submission... is it going to work? He's given up a good position looking for it. Goldman looks OK. Oh, I spoke too soon, he's out! That must have been tighter than I thought! Excellent work there by Durant! Submission of the night perhaps?

After winning the bout, Dante Durant thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
