PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Earl Pulonia (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ty Trevino (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pulonia comes to the cage accompanied by AC/DC - Nightprowler. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Trevino moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Pulonia throws a leg kick
and Trevino counters with a big head kick but Pulonia shrugs it off.
Trevino connects with a right hand. Pulonia shakes it off.

Trevino fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Pulonia sprawls well initially but Trevino persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

Trevino is nestled in close to Pulonia, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Trevino shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Pulonia eats them both and turns towards Trevino to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

Trevino throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Pulonia's waist but Pulonia gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Trevino off to one side.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Pulonia is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Trevino sees it coming and defends easily.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

That was a close round but I would say that Earl Pulonia will probably get the nod.

Trevino throws a nice looking combination but Pulonia bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Trevino shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Pulonia pinned against the cage. Pulonia gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Pulonia has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Pulonia shoots in looking for a takedown but Trevino manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Pulonia's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Trevino tries to close the distance and clinch but Pulonia swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Trevino must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Pulonia misses with a takedown attempt - Trevino sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Trevino moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.

Horrible takedown by Pulonia or perhaps it was just good defense by Trevino which made him look bad.

Pulonia swings around for an armbar but Trevino sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Pulonia's guard.
Pulonia manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Trevino manages to get himself to full guard.
