Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Inspectah Deck (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mohammad Rafi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Inspectah Deck!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Mohammad Rafi!
The judges for this bout are Chris Saunders, Micheangelo Fripello and Jeff Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Rafi looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!

Deck decides to pull guard.

Deck pushes Rafi off and gets back to his feet.
Deck misses with a wild body shot.
Deck ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Rafi moves away.

Rafi forces Deck back against the cage and clinches.

Rafi manages to pull guard.
Rafi working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Deck.
Deck working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Deck trying to control the position from guard on top but Rafi is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Deck with a flurry of punches that miss.
Deck controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

Deck in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Deck throwing strikes but missing.
Deck missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Deck loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Deck with a flurry of punches that miss.
Deck has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Deck wants to control from the top but Rafi keeps moving.

Deck drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Deck jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Deck throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Rafi works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Deck trying to control the position from guard on top but Rafi is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Deck will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Deck content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Rafi is trying to keep Deck in close.
Deck postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Deck accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Deck is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Deck with a flurry of punches that miss.
Deck is looking to work some ground and pound but Rafi has wrist control.
Rafi really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Deck. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Deck is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

Deck wants to control from the top but Rafi keeps moving.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Inspectah Deck dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.



Rafi instigates a clinch.

Deck jumps guard and drags Rafi to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Deck looking for a sweep. Not yet Deck, not yet.
Deck manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Rafi manages to get himself to full guard.
Inspectah Deck overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Deck scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Deck postures up in Rafi's guard and throws a big left but Rafi blocks it.
Deck tries to stand but Rafi is controlling from the bottom.
Rafi keeping moving, preventing Deck from controlling successfully.
Rafi is breathing heavily.

Deck trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Deck wants to control from the top but Rafi keeps moving.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Inspectah Deck just wasn't active enough.

Deck darts in and clinches Rafi up against the cage.

Rafi manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Deck trying to control but Rafi is working from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Deck makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.

Deck stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Rafi swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Deck wants to control from the top but Rafi keeps moving.
Rafi not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

We're going to have a standup here because Inspectah Deck wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.

Mohammad Rafi seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Deck lands with a nice body punch.
Deck misses with a hook. Rafi ducked under it nicely.

Deck drops Rafi with a beautiful combination! Rafi stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Deck is looking for the KO!


Rafi is rocked!


It looks like Mohammad Rafi has been cut.
Deck thuds a left hand into Rafi's body.
Inspectah Deck is winning the standup battle so far.

Deck gets a clinch.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Deck has Rafi pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Deck pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Rafi tumbling to the mat - Deck dives into Rafi's guard.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Rafi can do anything to dispel that myth.
Deck is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Rafi is still in real trouble! Can Deck finish him?
Deck slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Deck sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Rafi's guard.

Deck is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Rafi!
A big strike lands for Deck! That's really hurt Rafi and he's turned his back - Deck keeps firing away and the ref dives in to stop the fight! Deck jumps to his feet to celebrate the victory!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:22 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Inspectah Deck!
