Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, Sam Margolis and James Glass.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Payne throws a lazy uppercut
and Pelayo counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Pelayo throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Pelayo throws a nice inside leg kick.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Payne, as that shot connected.
Payne misses with a hook.
Justin Payne seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Pelayo avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Pelayo works Payne's body with a nice hook.
Pelayo throws a leg kick that is checked
enabling Payne to counter with a crisp jab.
Pelayo moves out of range of the body kick from Payne.
Pelayo will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
The fighters circling - Pelayo throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

Payne walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Pelayo tries to bum rush Payne with a series of wild strikes but Payne uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Pelayo scores with a hook to the body. Payne takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.

Pelayo connects with a jab.

and Pelayo cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Payne swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Pelayo throws out a leg kick but Payne moves out of range and Pelayo only half commits.
Payne throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Pelayo sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Pelayo looks to score with a jab to the body but Payne is just out of range.
Payne fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Pelayo misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Payne takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Payne tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Pelayo thows a left - swing and a miss!
Pelayo on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.

Pelayo sends Payne crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Pelayo is motioning to the referee to let Payne up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Payne thows a body shot but no joy.
Pelayo misses with a wild combination.
A punch combination from Payne misses.
Payne has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Payne is still on wobbly legs! Can Pelayo finish him?
Payne's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Payne duly obliges.
Payne seems to have recovered his senses.
Pelayo jabs Payne to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Pelayo throws a leg kick but Payne sees it coming and checks it nicely.

Payne throws an off balance right hand

and Pelayo counters with a crisp right hand that drops Payne! Pelayo lets Payne back up to his feet, looking for a finish!
Payne throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Pelayo counters with a right, left combo that wobbles Payne badly! Pelayo follows up with a massive right hook, straight to the bridge of the nose that knocks Payne out cold! Oh wow, what a finish! Very reminiscent of Koscheck vs Yoshida as Pelayo finished him against the cage.
