Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Derek Law (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Patric Pereira (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Law's entrance music is pretender. A fine choice. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Law tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Law has Pereira up against the cage in a clinch.
Law is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Pereira leaning his opponent against the cage.
Pereira fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Pereira goes for a takedown attempt but Law pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Law doesn't manage to clinch there - Pereira circles away.
Pereira changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Law tries to avoid it but Pereira manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Law to the ground. Law escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Derek Law has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Patric Pereira.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Pereira tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Law smiles and moves away.

A close round but Patric Pereira will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Law shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Law could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Pereira tries to clinch but Law moves out of range.

Pereira darts in and clinches Law up against the cage.
Law has a couple of punches blocked by Pereira.
Law drops down looking for an ankle pick but Pereira pulls his leg out and moves away.
Law lands a head kick. Pereira smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
Law looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

No joy there for Pereira, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Law throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Pereira.

Pereira is trying to break the clinch but Law is controlling him.

Pereira looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Law has picked Pereira up and slammed him! Pereira can't keep hold of the triangle and Law manages to pass to side control!

Pereira is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Law creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Pereira sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

Law is trying to get an arm triangle but Pereira is defending well.
Pereira manages to work his way to half guard, despite Law's best efforts.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Law is keen to just control but Pereira is a slippery customer.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Derek Law will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

and Law counters with a big head kick but Pereira shrugs it off.
Law will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Pereira might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Law kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Pereira is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Pereira is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Law won't allow Pereira to get back to his feet.
Pereira takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Patric Pereira hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Law rushes Pereira and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Law breaks from the clinch.
A combination from Pereira does no damage.

Pereira shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Law pinned against the cage. Law gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Pereira shoots for a double leg takedown but Law sprawls well. He's pushed Pereira's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Derek Law has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Patric Pereira.
Law throws a head kick but Pereira moves out of range.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Law, right into the meat.
Law dives in and grabs Pereira's left leg, looking for a takedown. Pereira pushes down on Law's head and hops out.
Law tries to close the distance and clinch but Pereira swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Pereira shoots in for a takedown but Law shows good takedown defense.
Pereira leaves Law with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Law throws a series of punches but Pereira avoids them all with ease.

Law throws the kick towards the body but Pereira avoids it.
Law fails with an attempt to clinch.
Pereira with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Pereira shoots in for a double leg but Law sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
No luck for Law with that takedown attempt.

Pereira is trying to pull guard but Law has him pressed against the cage.
Law gets through Pereira's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.

Law breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Pereira stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Pereira wants it to stay on the feet.

Pereira shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Law's guard.
Pereira wants to control from the top but Law keeps moving.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
