Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Rusty Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jocab Sims (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Summer Carpenter and Hugh Johnson.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Johnson clinches up against the cage.
Sims keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Johnson's efforts to push away.
Sims is trying to pull guard but Johnson has him pressed against the cage.
Johnson tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Sims just stands there and leans against the cage.
Johnson tries to pull guard but Sims holds him up against the cage and eventually Johnson drops back down to his feet.
Johnson tries to break free but Sims pushes him back against the cage.
The referee is keeping an eye on Sims - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.

Sims turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Sims manages to end up in side control.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

Sims tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Sims has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Sims decides to take the fight back to the feet.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Johnson.

Sims fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Johnson to the ground. Sims is now in Johnson's guard.

Sims has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

and Sims counters with a three punch combo that has Johnson backing up. Johnson nods at Sims to acknowledge the strikes.

Johnson pulls guard.

Sims decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Johnson, up you get!
Johnson wants to clinch up but Sims keeps it at a distance.

Sims is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Johnson misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Sims.

Sims escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Johnson has managed to clinch.
Johnson lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.
Sims is looking for a takedown.
Rusty Johnson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jocab Sims.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Sims kicks Johnson off and gets back to his feet.
Jocab Sims seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Sims shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Johnson looks for a takedown but Sims sprawls well.

Sims closes the distance and clinches.
Sims has Johnson pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Johnson manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

No luck for Johnson with that takedown attempt.
Johnson doesn't manage to clinch there - Sims circles away.

Johnson shoots for a takedown but Sims saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Johnson shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Sims as he jumps to the side.

Sims throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Sims moves into range and clinches up with Johnson.

Sims has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Johnson clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
Sims lands a couple of good shots to his opponent's body and a final shot to the head. Good little attack there by Sims.

Sims lands with a nice looking elbow that stuns Johnson.

Sims is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Johnson defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.

Well Sims has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
