Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Robin Van Der Straeten (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lucky Charms (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lucky Charms told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Van Der Straeten with a body punch. A glancing blow.
Charms tries to clinch there but Van Der Straeten circles away.
Van Der Straeten avoids the head kick by Charms.
Van Der Straeten takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Van Der Straeten will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Charms, right into the meat.
Robin Van Der Straeten seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Van Der Straeten misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Charms wants to clinch.

Van Der Straeten is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Charms asserts his dominance and retains side control.
Van Der Straeten is not content to let Charms control the position.

Charms is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Van Der Straeten knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Charms throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Van Der Straeten was covering up waiting for the punch and Charms finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Charms tries to clinch up but Van Der Straeten circles away and keeps his distance.
Charms digs a good body shot into Van Der Straeten's ribs.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Charms swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Robin Van Der Straeten is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Van Der Straeten missing with a left hand there. Charms was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Charms closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Charms shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Van Der Straeten napping and manages to drive through into side control!

No joy there for Charms, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Charms lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.

The fight stays on the outside here - Charms looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Charms lands a good knee to the midsection. Van Der Straeten won't want to take too many of those.

Van Der Straeten pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Charms back to the cage. Van Der Straeten follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.

Robin Van Der Straeten has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Lucky Charms.
Charms shoots in looking for a takedown but Van Der Straeten manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Charms's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Good leg kick by Charms there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

Charms changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Van Der Straeten looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Charms trying to control the position but Van Der Straeten is working away.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
Charms works to advance to full mount. Van Der Straeten defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.
Charms working from mount. He moves in close and looks like he might be going for an arm triangle... He's hopped off to the side and he's transitioned into an Anaconda choke. Van Der Straeten turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips Charms off and cradles Van Der Straeten's limp body as Charms celebrates with his corner.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:58 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Anaconda Choke). Lucky Charms!
