PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Renshu Lau (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and TheMegaMan GameMaster (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Lau might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to 48 Form. TheMegaMan GameMaster is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

GameMaster looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Lau avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
GameMaster cracks Lau with a solid left hand.
GameMaster works over Lau with some ground and pound from guard.
GameMaster throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
GameMaster is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
GameMaster has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Lau is proving hard to escape from.

GameMaster drops back, looking for a kneebar! Lau looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Lau looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Lau!
GameMaster tries to buck Lau off but Lau is having none of it.
GameMaster looks gassed!
Lau wants to stand but GameMaster has his arm trapped.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
GameMaster is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.

That's one minute gone in the round.
GameMaster tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Lau wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
GameMaster is not content to let Lau control the position.
GameMaster is trying to escape and get back to his feet.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
GameMaster tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Horrible takedown by GameMaster or perhaps it was just good defense by Lau which made him look bad.
Lau fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
GameMaster keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Lau has his takedown stuffed

and GameMaster decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Lau's guard.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Renshu Lau. That's going to take a lot out of him.

GameMaster gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
GameMaster shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Lau as he avoids it easily.
Lau lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

GameMaster drives through with a takedown into guard.
GameMaster stopping the sweep attempt from Lau.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
GameMaster stands up over Lau, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
GameMaster content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
GameMaster pushes down on Lau's leg and manages to get into half guard.
GameMaster slips a nice elbow through Lau's hands, connecting with Lau's forehead.

GameMaster stands up out of the half guard.
A jab from Lau does it's job there.
GameMaster tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Lau swivels and escapes.
Lau tries to clinch but GameMaster is having none of it.
Lau shoots for a double leg takedown but GameMaster sprawls well. He's pushed Lau's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
TheMegaMan GameMaster seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Lau fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Lau tries to clinch there but GameMaster circles away.
GameMaster fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

GameMaster shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
GameMaster lands a heavy elbow.
Lau is wriggling around trying to escape.
GameMaster looking to finish with strikes here!
GameMaster throwing strikes here but Lau is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.

Lau is in all sorts of trouble here.
GameMaster is in the full mount, landing strikes.
GameMaster misses with a head shot.
GameMaster misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
