Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Renzo Machida (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Thiago Muerte (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Machida comes to the cage accompanied by No more Shadows for the Past- NARNIA. I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Thiago Muerte was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
20 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Thiago Muerte!
The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Emerson Jorge and Matheus Silva.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Machida lands the left hand.
Muerte tries to clinch up
and Machida counters with a slapping leg kick.
Machida feints and then cracks Muerte's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Muerte down.
Machida lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Horrible takedown by Muerte or perhaps it was just good defense by Machida which made him look bad.
Thiago Muerte seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Machida connects with an inside leg kick.
Muerte will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Muerte moves to clinch but Machida breaks away
and Machida counters with a nice leg kick.
Muerte looks gassed!
Muerte blocks a head kick by Machida.
Machida connects with a solid leg kick.
Machida lands with a nice body kick.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Machida pushes Muerte up against the cage in a clinch.
Muerte's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!
Muerte fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Machida is stalling here.
Muerte is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Machida is keeping busy.
Machida lands a body punch in the clinch.
Machida lands an uppercut.
Machida lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
Machida scores with a hook to the body.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Machida utilising his Muay Thai to score with a knee to the body.
Machida's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Machida turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Muerte stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Machida.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Machida, right into the meat.
Muerte tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Machida clinches up with Muerte and pushes him back against the cage.
Muerte letting Machida take a breather here.
Machida scores with a nice hook to the head.
Machida stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.
Machida lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.
Machida presses Muerte against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot.

Machida lands a right hand.
Machida escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Machida lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Muerte at a distance.
Machida circles and sees the opportunity to plant his feet and throw a really nice straight left hand that drops Muerte to the canvas! Muerte doesn't know where he is but he's trying to survive - Machida keeps piling on the pressure and forces the referee to step in! This one is aaaaaall over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Renzo Machida!
