Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Dan White (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nick Thompson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Thompson is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Kreator - Extreme Aggressions. Dan White has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
White is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Thompson.
White misses with a straight left.
A combination from White does no damage.
Thompson fails with an attempt to clinch.
White misses with a straight left.

White throws a series of punches but Thompson moves out of range.
White swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
White misses with a wild combination.
Thompson fails with a takedown attempt.
Thompson looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
White tries for a takedown but Thompson sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
A punch combination from White misses.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Thompson clinches up with White and pushes him back against the cage.
Thompson with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head.

It looks like Dan White has been cut.

White turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
Thompson is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on White's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
Thompson is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of White's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take White's back!

Thompson working for a RNC but it's not happening just yet.

White wants to control his opponent's hands but Thompson gets his hands free.

Thompson looking to break White's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. White remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Thompson will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!
White turns into Thompson and is now in his guard.

White thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
White wants to control from the top but Thompson keeps moving.

Thompson is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

White gets to his feet. Thompson looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
White swings for the body but Thompson moves out of range.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
White is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
Thompson dodges the punch combination from White.
Nice takedown defense from White. No joy for Thompson on that attempt.
Dan White has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Nick Thompson.

and Thompson counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

White escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Thompson gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

White has his foot on Thompson's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Thompson works his way back into a safe position though.

White had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Thompson is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. White Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Thompson's back instead.
White wants to control but Thompson manages to buck him off and is now in White's guard! Nice work there by Thompson!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

White escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Thompson gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
White is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

White manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

White has hold of Thompson's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Thompson manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

White is landing with some decent strikes but Thompson is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
White tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

White with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
This has been an exciting period of action!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
White in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
White tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! White's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Thompson shoots in for a double leg but White sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
White lands a two punch combo.

Thompson is rocked!

It looks like Nick Thompson has been cut.
White is looking for an opening here. He's unloaded a big left hand that catches Thompson flush on the jaw and sends him tumbling to the canvas! Thompson is out cold! White holds back from landing any unnecessary shots to his unconscious opponent, as the referee reacts slowly to the situation. A brutal knockout and then some excellent sportsmanship - this guy is my new favorite fighter!
