The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Giovinco tries for a takedown but Branch sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Giovinco.
Branch is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Giovinco has taken the fight to the clinch.
The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.

Giovinco tries to close the distance and clinch but Branch swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Branch darts in and lands a big hook, right on the button! Giovinco's legs crumble underneath him as he falls to the canvas! The ref tackles Branch before he gets to land any more shots to his stricken foe.
