PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Grizzly Adams (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tyler Lee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lee is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Intro - DMX. There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Grizzly Adams!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Tyler Lee!
The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Alec Ball and Ian Loll.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

A momentary lapse in concentration from Adams enables Lee to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Adams manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Lee is looking to advance position but Adams has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!

Lee really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Adams. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Lee is pulling down on Adams's head. It's preventing any offense from Adams, at least for the moment.
Adams wants to control from the top but Lee keeps moving.
Lee has control of Adams's left arm, preventing Adams from doing any damage.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Grizzly Adams wasn't doing enough on the ground.

Lee drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

Lee has gone for a leg lock! Adams slips out almost immediately though and dives into Lee's guard.
Lee not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Lee has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Adams is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Lee.
Lee is not content to let Adams control the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
A control attempt from Lee but he's now mounted!
This has been an exciting period of action!

Lee is desperately trying to improve his position but Adams has a good base and remains in mount.
Lee is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Lee is squirming around, avoiding Adams's attempts to control the action.
Adams looking to ground and pound but Lee is blocking nicely.

Adams with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Lee is refusing to be controlled, as Adams sits in half guard.
Lee lands with a few short shots to the body.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Grizzly Adams will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Adams doesn't manage to clinch there - Lee circles away.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Adams is defended easily by Lee.

Lee closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Adams did well to prevent Lee getting side control.

Lee is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Adams is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Adams has escaped and now he's on top!

Adams really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Lee tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Adams will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Adams wants to stand but Lee has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Adams passes Lee's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Lee gets back to full guard.

Lee looking for subs off his back but Adams has passed one foot through into half guard.
Lee is breathing heavily.
Lee has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Adams is working away from the top position though.
Lee wants to improve his position but Adams is controlling well.
Adams takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Adams is looking to take a break and control but Lee is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
The fight stays on the outside here - Adams looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Adams wants to clinch up but Lee keeps it at a distance.

Lee decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Adams makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Adams.

Lee is posturing up here but Adams has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Lee tries to roll out but it's too tight and Lee has to tap! Slick submission there by Adams!
