PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Bors De Camlan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and David Williams (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Williams is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Big Bad Wolf by Duck Sauce. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Bors De Camlan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, David Williams!
The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Skip Squint and Steve Erwin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Williams showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from De Camlan.
Williams scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.

Williams clinches up with De Camlan and pushes him back against the cage.

De Camlan's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Williams swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and De Camlan counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
De Camlan throws a series of punches but Williams avoids them all with ease.
Williams has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Williams fails with a takedown attempt.

Williams manages to get an easy takedown there - catching De Camlan on his heels. He'll look to pass De Camlan's guard now, I'm sure.
Williams working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
De Camlan really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

De Camlan is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Williams wants to control from the top but De Camlan keeps moving.
Williams is pushing down on De Camlan's leg trying to pass to half guard. De Camlan is fighting to maintain full guard but Williams has managed to sneak the leg through.
Williams is keen to just control but De Camlan is a slippery customer.

Williams shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says De Camlan as he avoids it easily.
Bors De Camlan has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of David Williams.

David Williams seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Williams looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? De Camlan is fending him off so far but Williams persists. Nope, De Camlan circles away and we're back to standing.

De Camlan is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Williams knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

De Camlan tries for a kimura but Williams is defending well.
De Camlan cracks Williams with a big right hand but Williams just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

De Camlan wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Williams, who protects the arm well.

Williams is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. De Camlan defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.

Williams might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control De Camlan kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Williams sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.

De Camlan is working for a kimura but Williams is defending it quite comfortably.
De Camlan uses his free foot to push down on Williams's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Williams.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Bors De Camlan.
Well Williams has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
