Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 17 - 10 - 0, fighting out of London, John Meyer!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 7 - 0, fighting out of London, Josh Hastings!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, Richard Clark and Andrew Berry.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Meyer looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Hastings is fending him off so far but Meyer persists. Nope, Hastings circles away and we're back to standing.
Horrible takedown by Meyer or perhaps it was just good defense by Hastings which made him look bad.
Meyer keeps the fight on the outside.
Meyer tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Hastings manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Hastings has picked Meyer up - he's going for a ride! Hastings dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
Meyer wants to improve his position but Hastings is controlling well.

Hastings stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Meyer swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Meyer manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Hastings manages to get himself to full guard.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Hastings can do anything to dispel that myth.

Hastings is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Meyer drops back looking for a leg! Hastings is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Hastings manages to kick Meyer off! Meyer jumps back into Hastings's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Meyer drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Meyer jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Meyer drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Hastings manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Meyer has Hastings in his guard.

Hastings looking to sit in guard and control but Meyer gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Meyer postures up in Hastings's guard and throws a big left but Hastings blocks it.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

John Meyer dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.



Meyer darts in and clinches Hastings up against the cage.
Meyer pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage.
Hastings looking to stall.
Meyer creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses.

Meyer has clasped his hands together around Hastings's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.

Meyer is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Hastings is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Hastings is trying to escape and get back to his feet.

Meyer with the ground and pound but Hastings regains half guard under the barage of strikes.

Meyer seems to be looking for submissions.

Meyer seems to be working for a kimura but Hastings defends the submission attempt.
Hastings pushes Meyer off looking to stand but Meyer dives back in and keeps control.
Hastings is breathing heavily.
