Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jack Encarnacao!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Rico Podster!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Podster fails with an attempt to clinch.
Encarnacao circles away from the clinch attempt

and Encarnacao counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Podster looking for a sweep. Not yet Podster, not yet.
Encarnacao is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Podster is trying to keep Encarnacao in close.
Podster wants to sweep here but Encarnacao controlling him for the moment.
Podster working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Encarnacao.
Encarnacao is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Podster closes the distance and clinches.

Podster landing knees to the head.


It looks like Jack Encarnacao has been cut.
A knee to the head by Podster.
Encarnacao is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.

Encarnacao is trying to trip Podster. He has hold of a leg but Podster is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Encarnacao persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
Podster really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Encarnacao. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Encarnacao stands up over Podster, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Encarnacao scoring with some ground and pound.
Podster can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Encarnacao controls the pace.
Encarnacao passes into half guard.
Encarnacao has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Encarnacao not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Encarnacao passes the guard and advances to mount!
Encarnacao content just to control the position here.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Encarnacao postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Podster looks a forlorn figure.
Podster is trying to get to the cage to help him get back to his feet.
Podster can't escape the position.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Podster can do anything to dispel that myth.

Encarnacao is working to isolate an arm here. It's a telegraphed submission attempt but he's gone for it anyway - and he's got it! Encarnacao extends the arm and Podster is forced to tap!
