These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Griffin ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Morris fails with the takedown
and Griffin counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

and Morris counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Griffin slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.

Morris postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Morris shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Griffin as he jumps to the side.
Griffin throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Morris.
Michael Griffin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Morris shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Griffin pinned against the cage. Griffin gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Michael Griffin has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Chester Morris.

Oooooh!!! Griffin has knocked Morris down with a huge combo! Griffin steps away and waves a wobbly Morris back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!

Griffin sends Morris crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Griffin is motioning to the referee to let Morris up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!

Griffin fires a straight punch through the middle that cracks Morris square on the jaw! Damn, Morris is out cold on his feet and topples face first to the canvas! Wow, I haven't seen a knockout that brutal in a long time!
