PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Zhijing Wang (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Barnaba Graniecki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Graniecki is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Bad to the bone. Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Graniecki misses with a series of wild punches.
Graniecki moves out of range of the body kick.
Graniecki throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Nice shot lands for Wang.
Wang goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Wang lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.

The fighters circle momentarily. Graniecki darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.

It looks like Zhijing Wang has been cut.

and Wang counters with a nice double leg into side control. Graniecki won't be happy with that.

If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Graniecki rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Wang moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Graniecki misses with a few strikes there.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Wang drops back, looking for a kneebar! Graniecki looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Graniecki looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Graniecki!
Wang tries to bench press Graniecki off him but Graniecki keeps the position.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Wang pulls Graniecki in close to his closed guard and prevents Graniecki from doing any damage or advancing position.
Graniecki really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Wang. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
