And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 44 - 18 - 1, fighting out of New York, Jack McClusky!
The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, Russell Pearce and Columbo Gatti.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nelson keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.
Nelson uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from McClusky.
McClusky misses with a body shot.
McClusky lands a jab to the head.
Nelson wants to clinch up but McClusky keeps it at a distance.

Nelson throws a head kick that lands with a deafening thwack! The crowd roars as McClusky stumbles backwards and falls to the mat. Nelson follows into mount!


It looks like Jack McClusky has been cut.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Nelson raining down shots from the mount!


McClusky is rocked!
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Nelson lands a big shot to the head and McClusky winces in pain. He's tapped out due to strikes!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:45 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Strikes). Hoy Nelson!
After the fight, Hoy Nelson was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
