Eriksson comes to the cage accompanied by Mastodon - Curl of the Burl. Mikael Eriksson has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Eriksson misses with a takedown
and Sumrall counters with a nice leg kick.

Sumrall goes for a high kick. It partially lands.

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Eriksson is defended easily by Sumrall.

Sumrall's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Eriksson shoots for a takedown but Sumrall saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Sumrall throws a head kick that half lands.
Sumrall lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.

Eriksson shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

Eriksson is working for a kimura but Sumrall is defending it quite comfortably.

Eriksson trying to pass the guard. He's being very persistent here but Sumrall manages to land a sweep and now he's on top!

Sumrall avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Eriksson had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Sumrall defends it easily.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Eriksson working for submissions but it's allowed Sumrall to get to half guard.
Eriksson is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Eriksson gets back to full guard.
Sumrall really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Eriksson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Eriksson has his foot on Sumrall's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Sumrall works his way back into a safe position though.

Sumrall wants to stand but Eriksson is controlling his posture from full guard.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Sumrall seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Eriksson not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Eriksson closes this distance looking for a takedown but Sumrall circles away.
Eriksson tries to clinch up but Sumrall circles away and keeps his distance.
Sumrall buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Sumrall stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Sumrall wants it to stay on the feet.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Sumrall.
Sumrall stuffs the takedown attempt from Eriksson. Eriksson gets slowly back to his feet.

Eriksson shoots in for a double leg but Sumrall sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Eriksson ducks right into an uppercut from Sumrall.
Sumrall plants his feet and throws a 3 punch combo. Miss, miss, boom! The third punch, a big right hook, connects right on the temple and drops Eriksson to the mat, unconscious! This fight is all over! Eriksson just couldn't keep out of the way of the whole flurry of punches!
