PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Javier Hernandez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dave Ridgeon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hernandez comes to the cage accompanied by Danza kuduro. Dave Ridgeon told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, Colin Fotheringham and Donald Grub.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hernandez tries to clinch but Ridgeon moves away

and Ridgeon counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Ridgeon throws a strike but Hernandez rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Hernandez looking to sit in guard and control but Ridgeon gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Ridgeon has his foot on Hernandez's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Hernandez works his way back into a safe position though.

Hernandez drops back, looking for a kneebar! Ridgeon looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Ridgeon looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Ridgeon!
