PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Lens Adams (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hot Dawg (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Hot Dawg was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Dawg fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Adams sprawls well initially but Dawg persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Dawg tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Adams.
The fighters are battling for position here. Adams manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Dawg really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Adams. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Dawg gets to his feet. Adams looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

The ref stands the fighters back up. Hot Dawg was stalling too much, according to the referee.

Dawg leaves Adams with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Dawg looks to score with a jab to the body but Adams is just out of range.

and Dawg counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Adams thinking.

Adams is trying hard to land a takedown here. Dawg sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Dawg tries to bum rush Adams with a series of wild strikes but Adams uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
No joy there for Dawg, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Dawg throws a nice looking combination but Adams bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Adams might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Dawg wants to stand and escape but Adams is having none of it.

Adams passes into half guard.

Adams is looking for a kimura but Dawg is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Adams to get the leverage.
Adams is trying to control. Dawg wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Dawg is trying to escape back to his feet but Adams uses the scramble to pass into side control.

Adams is looking to take a break and control but Dawg is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Dawg thows an elbow strike that misses. Adams gets hold of full guard and has managed to get a loose guillotine attempt. Dawg doesn't seem too bothered but Adams quickly shifts his position and has tightened the hold! Dawg is in big trouble now - he's going a funny colour - he's tapping out! Nice finish there! Dawg really should have spotted the danger earlier though... either incompetence or over-confidence has resulted in a big L on his record.
