PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Hirokazu Yonemoto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jerome McCarthy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jerome McCarthy told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Yonemoto throws a looping overhand right but McCarthy ducks down to avoid it.
Yonemoto misses with a hook

and McCarthy counters by moving into the clinch.
Yonemoto has had enough of the clinch but McCarthy keeps him there for the moment.
Yonemoto is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables McCarthy to keep the fight standing.

McCarthy breaks from the clinch.
McCarthy scores with a three punch combo!

It looks like Hirokazu Yonemoto has been cut.
Yonemoto tries a head kick but it misses.
McCarthy throws a head kick that half lands.

Yonemoto shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

Yonemoto drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Yonemoto jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
McCarthy can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Yonemoto controls the pace.
Yonemoto forces his way into half guard.
McCarthy pushes Yonemoto off looking to stand but Yonemoto dives back in and keeps control.

Yonemoto seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. McCarthy is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
