Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Mick Gerrard!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Son Goku!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fray, Jeff Smith and Ryoma Takatsuka.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gerrard clinches up with Goku and pushes him back against the cage.
Goku breaks the clinch.
Goku throws a right and a left that both miss.
Goku throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Goku misses with a jab, cross combination.
Some wild striking there from Gerrard.
Gerrard takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Gerrard lands a jab followed by a vicious hook that sends Goku sprawling to the canvas. Gerrard follows him down, looking for the kill. Can Goku hang on?
Goku is rocked!
It looks like Son Goku has been cut.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Gerrard in particular looking to stall.
Goku is still in real trouble! Can Gerrard finish him?
Gerrard passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Goku!
Gerrard controlling the position easily from mount.
Gerrard has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
That's one minute gone in the round.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Mick Gerrard.
Gerrard moves in close and cracks Goku with a massive right hand! Goku, frozen momentarily in time, tumbles to the canvas, already out cold! A brutal knockout by Gerrard!
