PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Dmitiy Ushkanov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Suneet Chandler (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chandler is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Trendy. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, John Kavanagh and Joseph Jones.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A punch combination from Chandler misses.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Ushkanov enables Chandler to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Ushkanov manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

Chandler thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Chandler throws a big right hand that misses.

Chandler slips nicely into half guard.
Chandler prevents Ushkanov from improving his position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Chandler looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Ushkanov with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Ushkanov is in trouble now - Chandler has advanced to mount!

Ushkanov tries to hold on but Chandler postures up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Ushkanov knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Chandler on the ground.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Chandler quickly switches position and commits to an armbar! It's a big risk for Chandler but it's paid off an Ushkanov is forced to tap! Nice work by Chandler.
