Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 18 - 20 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Carl Morton!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Andrei Komissarov!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Cecil Peabody and Robert Twigg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Morton drives through and clinches with Komissarov against the cage.
Komissarov changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Morton fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Morton stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Morton lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Morton drops Komissarov with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Komissarov looks back up at him and smiles so Morton waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.

Morton tries to clinch there but Komissarov circles away.
Nice takedown defense from Morton. No joy for Komissarov on that attempt.
A good leg kick by Morton.
Morton throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Morton lands with a cross.
Komissarov fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Carl Morton has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Andrei Komissarov.

Morton lands a really nice looking cross but Komissarov seems unphased.

Morton rushes Komissarov and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Komissarov drops down looking for an ankle pick but Morton pulls his leg out and moves away.
Morton scores with a crisp jab that stopped Komissarov in his tracks.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Komissarov's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Morton connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Komissarov scrambles back to his feet.

Komissarov shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Morton is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Morton slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.
Morton makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Morton.
Komissarov stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Morton swivels though and keeps the full guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Morton is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Morton is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Morton is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Komissarov won't allow Morton to get back to his feet.
Komissarov pushes down on Morton's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Morton wants to get back to full guard.
Komissarov wants to pass the guard but Morton is defending well.

Komissarov is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Morton is staying active underneath Komissarov, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Morton is trying to stand up here but Komissarov is controlling him well.

Komissarov is working for a kimura but Morton is defending it quite comfortably.
Morton pushes Komissarov off looking to stand but Komissarov dives back in and keeps control.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Komissarov is looking to take a break and control but Morton is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Komissarov has a takedown stuffed.
Morton misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Morton digs a good hook to Komissarov's body.
Komissarov dodges the punch combination from Morton.
Morton lunges at Komissarov with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Komissarov's hand.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Morton dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Komissarov. That did some damage!

Morton lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
