The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gerrard scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Allen uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Gerrard.

Allen is trying to break the clinch but Gerrard has him pressed against the ropes.

Allen is really struggling to find his range with his punches. Gerrard's reach advantage is clearly causing him problems.

Allen gets tackled into the ropes by Gerrard. Gerrard maintains the clinch.

Allen is trying to pull guard but Gerrard turns him against the ropes and we stay in the clinch.

Dennis Allen seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Mick Gerrard is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Allen thows a body shot but no joy.
Allen tries to score a power double leg takedown but Gerrard sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Allen somewhat.

Allen drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Gerrard ducks under a wild hook from Allen.

Allen throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Gerrard might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
Gerrard lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.

Allen tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Gerrard was well out of range. Poor timing from Allen.
Gerrard pounces like a tiger and cracks Allen with a vicious hook! Allen is down but not out! Gerrard follows up with more strikes forcing the ref to jump in and stop it!
