The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Essien shoots for a takedown but Matsui saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Matsui sizes up Essien with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Essien doesn't succeed with the takedown
letting Matsui counter with a right hand.
Essien takes a body punch but keeps moving.
No luck for Essien with that takedown attempt.
