Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
10 - 6 - 2, fighting out of New York, Klas Ondahl! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Grimey Wall! The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, Chad Campbell and Jorge Garcia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ondahl throws a leg kick but Wall sees it coming and checks it nicely. Ondahl dives in and grabs Wall's left leg, looking for a takedown. Wall pushes down on Ondahl's head and hops out. Ondahl shoots for a double leg takedown but Wall sprawls well. He's pushed Ondahl's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Wall shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Ondahl is trying to defend but Wall finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Wall not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Wall wants to free his trapped foot but Ondahl is holding on for dear life with his legs. Wall seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. Wall is pressing down on Ondahl's thigh, looking to free his foot. Ondahl is holding on for now.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Ondahl throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Wall because Ondahl loaded up on that one. Wall is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Ondahl throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.

Wall shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Ondahl manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Ondahl keeping full guard, as Wall tries to pass. Ondahl utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Ondahl holds on and takes a little breather. Wall throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Ondahl pulls Wall in to control the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Wall throws an elbow that misses. Ondahl uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Wall's guard. Nice move by Ondahl! Wall wants to sweep but no luck. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Ondahl accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Ondahl stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Wall swivels though and keeps the full guard. Wall utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Ondahl will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Ondahl postures up in Wall's guard and throws a big left but Wall blocks it. Wall controls Ondahl momentarily but Ondahl frees himself. Ondahl throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Ondahl throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Wall works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ondahl stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Wall swivels though and keeps the full guard. Wall is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Ondahl postures up.

Ondahl stands up over Wall, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Ondahl throwing strikes from guard but Wall blocks nicely. Ondahl working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Ondahl advances to half guard. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Wall tries to roll over but Ondahl keeps him under control. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Wall is trying to maintain the position but Ondahl is very close to passing his half guard. Wall is trying to avoid being dragged into an even worse position than he's already in but Ondahl is staying active. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Klas Ondahl will probably get the nod. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Wall feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Wall throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Ondahl wants to get back to his feet but Wall is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Wall trying to control the position from guard on top but Ondahl is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Wall is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Wall looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple. Ondahl with a jab. Ondahl closes this distance looking for a takedown but Wall circles away. Ondahl feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Walls jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist! Klas Ondahl is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Ondahl is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.

Klas Ondahl overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Wall is trying to control. Ondahl wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Wall is looking to advance position but Ondahl won't allow it. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Ondahl keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Klas Ondahl. Well Ondahl has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win...
