Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Steven Stout (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alex Murphy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Steven Stout!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Alex Murphy!
The judges for this bout are William Peck, Trevor Gratis and Steve Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Murphy throws a head kick that Stout semi-blocks.
Murphy shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Stout eats them both and turns towards Murphy to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Murphy shoots in for a double leg but Stout sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Murphy is trying hard to land a takedown here. Stout sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Stout changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Murphy tries to avoid it but Stout manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Murphy to the ground. Murphy escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Stout on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.

Stout gets a takedown into half guard.

Stout decides to stand up.

Murphy drives through and clinches with Stout against the cage.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Stout tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Stout wants to stand but Murphy has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Murphy wants to stand and escape but Stout is having none of it.

Murphy is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Stout really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Murphy is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Stout knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Murphy on the ground.

Murphy ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Murphy no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Murphy lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Stout!

Alex Murphy showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Stout has gone for a leg lock! Murphy slips out almost immediately though and dives into Stout's guard.

If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Alex Murphy hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Well Murphy has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
