Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Anthony Bova!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Julian Donnell!
The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Shigeki Sano and Yuuki Gou.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Donnell moves out of range of the body kick.

Donnell shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Donnell connects with a couple of short punches.

Bova is working an open guard so Donnell takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Donnell is looking to clinch but Bova is avoiding it.

Donnell closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Bova quickly recovers to half guard.
Donnell is looking to stall here but Bova recovers full guard.
Donnell postures up in Bova's guard and throws a big left but Bova blocks it.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Donnell gets to his feet - Bova follows without any prompting.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Donnell, as that shot connected.
Bova takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Donnell dips down and scores with a jab to the body.

Donnell throws a strike aimed at the side of Bova's head but Bova avoids it well.
Donnell lands a decent elbow from side control.
Donnell lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.

Bova tries to buck Donnell off but Donnell is having none of it.

Donnell fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Bova, pushing him back against the cage.
Donnell is working for takedown but Bova is calmly controlling the position for now.
Bova fails to pull guard.

Donnell lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.

A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.

Bova looks to land a combination but Donnell avoids it well.

The fighters circle momentarily. Bova darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.

Donnell tries to bum rush Bova with a series of wild strikes but Bova uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Horrible takedown by Bova or perhaps it was just good defense by Donnell which made him look bad.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Donnell forces Bova back against the cage and clinches.
Bova wants to break free but Donnell has control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
