Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Joe Boxer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joe Kaplan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 16 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Joe Boxer!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 15 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Joe Kaplan!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Gwen Towbar and Robert Twigg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kaplan looks to land a combination but Boxer avoids it well.
An inside leg kick lands from Boxer.
Kaplan swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Boxer.
Kaplan tries to land a leg kick but Boxer saw it coming and moves away.
Boxer avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Kaplan throws a jab when Boxer was well out of range.
Boxer scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Kaplan throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Boxer counters with a slapping leg kick.
Boxer scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Kaplan takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.

Kaplan instigates a clinch.
Boxer lands with a left to the head.


It looks like Joe Kaplan has been cut.
A short body shot lands from Boxer as the two fighters clinch.
Kaplan fails to pull guard.
Kaplan is trying to pull guard but Boxer has him pressed against the cage.
Kaplan tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Boxer just stands there and leans against the cage.
Joe Boxer has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Joe Kaplan.
Kaplan looks gassed!
Boxer throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.
Boxer lands a damaging elbow.
Boxer connects with a knee to the head.
Boxer lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!
Boxer lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Boxer is leaning against Kaplan and scores with a nice uppercut to the body.
Nice body punch from Boxer.
A quick uppercut on the inside from Boxer.
Boxer lands an uppercut.
Boxer is trying to wear down his opponent with knees to the body.
Boxer scores with a hook to the body.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Kaplan takes a knee right on the jaw!


That has opened up Joe Kaplan's cut even more.
Boxer lands a nice shot to the body.

Boxer escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Boxer lands a leg kick that knocks Kaplan off balance momentarily.
Boxer scores with a hook to the body. Kaplan takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Boxer scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Kaplan takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Kaplan takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Boxer scores with a sloppy right hand. Kaplan should have avoided that one.
Boxer throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Boxer lands a slapping body shot.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Boxer sets himself and throws a head kick that knocks Kaplan to the ground! Boxer dives into full mount looking to finish!


Kaplan is rocked!
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Kaplan can't escape the position.
Kaplan is still in real trouble! Can Boxer finish him?
Boxer can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Kaplan is looking to escape.
Kaplan seems to have recovered his senses.
Boxer tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Kaplan is working to get back to half guard.
Boxer controlling from the full mount.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Kaplan is squirming around, avoiding Boxer's attempts to control the action.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Joe Boxer wasn't doing enough on the ground.

Boxer drives through and clinches with Kaplan against the cage.
Boxer misses with a hook to the ribs.
Kaplan is trying to pull guard but Boxer has him pressed against the cage.
Kaplan is trying to push Boxer away but Boxer has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Kaplan has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Boxer connects with a knee to the head.


The cut above Joe Kaplan's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Kaplan jumps guard but Boxer stands there with Kaplan around his waist. Kaplan gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Boxer keeps control of Kaplan as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Boxer scores with a shot to the side of Kaplan's head.
Boxer lands an elbow just above Kaplan 's eye.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Kaplan is trying to break the clinch but Boxer is controlling him.
Kneeeeees! The crowd are calling for knees to the body. Boxer obliges.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.
Boxer unloads a knee to the mid-section. Kaplan lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh.
A right hook to the body lands for Boxer.
Boxer lands an uppercut.
Boxer lands a left hand that snaps the head of Kaplan backwards.


Joe Kaplan's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.
Boxer softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage.
Boxer is leaning against Kaplan and scores with a nice uppercut to the body.
Kaplan takes a knee right on the jaw!

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Joe Kaplan's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:39 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Joe Boxer!
