Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ryan Evans (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Frank Mir (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Evans comes to the cage accompanied by Emoyrean Mercenaries. Ryan Evans has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 19 - 12 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ryan Evans!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 20 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Frank Mir!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Wesley Smith and Cecil Peabody.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Evans throws out a powerful jab.
Mir shoots in for a takedown but Evans shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
A slow jab from Evans misses its intended target.
Mir wants to clinch but Evans slips to the side
and Evans counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Mir sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
A head kick by Mir misses
and Evans counters with a nice leg kick.
Evans jabs at Mir's body.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Mir has Evans up against the cage in a clinch.
Evans on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Evans lands a nice shot to the body.
A right hook to the body lands for Evans.
Mir looks gassed!
Evans pushes Mir back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
A right handed body shot lands from Evans.
Evans misses with a shot to the kidneys.

Evans breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Mir takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Mir takes one on the button.
Evans's corner calls for a 1-2. Evans obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Mir takes one on the chin but seems OK.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
A chopping leg kick lands by Evans.
Evans jabs Mir right on the nose. Mir blinks but takes it well.
Evans lands a slapping body shot.
Evans catches Mir with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!

Evans throws a big overhand right that connects, sending Mir tumbling to the canvas!


Mir is rocked!

Evans drops back looking for a leg! Mir is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Mir manages to kick Evans off! Evans jumps back into Mir's guard.
Mir is still in real trouble! Can Evans finish him?
Evans pushing down on Mir's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.

Evans wants to work for an arm triangle but Mir is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Mir seems to have recovered his senses.
Evans tries to pass the half guard into mount. Mir knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Evans is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Mir keeps control of the position for the meantime.

Evans wants to work for an arm triangle but Mir is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Mir looks like he's trying to stand up.

Evans is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Mir sees it coming and defends easily.
Evans is thwarting Mir's attempts to control the position.
Mir is trying to stand up here but Evans is controlling him well.
Mir is looking to improve his position.
Mir is looking to control Evans's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Mir avoid being mounted?
Mir is looking to escape.

Evans is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Mir sees it coming and defends easily.

Evans moves into full mount! Mir won't be happy about that!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Mir is in all sorts of trouble here.
Evans thowing shots but they're missing.

Evans is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Mir to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Mir shrugs it off.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Mir controls the position.
Mir tries to get back to half guard but can't.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ryan Evans dominated that round.
That's time! Evans's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Evans keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.
Mir takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Ryan Evans is winning the standup battle so far.
Evans throws a hook to the side of Mir's head but Mir sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Evans scores with the left hand. Mir knows he should have avoided that one.
Evans is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Mir can do to turn this around?
Evans displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Mir.
Evans swats away the attempt to clinch by Mir.
Mir misses with a body punch
and Evans counters with a lovely straight right hand!


It looks like Frank Mir has been cut.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Mir fails in his attempt to clinch.
Evans pivots, looking for a leg kick but Mir is out of range and Evans settles back down.
Evans is looking to slow Mir down with leg kicks.

Mir shoots in and gets a takedown into Evans's guard.

Evans has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Mir can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Mir avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Evans is looking for a triangle but Mir pushes his legs off easily.
Mir wants to stand but Evans is controlling his posture from full guard.

Evans has his feet on Mir's thighs here. He's pushed Mir off and worked for a very quick armbar from the bottom! He's flipped onto his stomach and he's cranking hard on the arm! Mir screams in pain and taps out! This one is all over!

A very excited looking Ryan Evans made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
