Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Jerome Powers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jesus Christ (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Powers's entrance music is We Run This - Missy Elliot. A fine choice. Christ has chosen All that Heavenly Glory as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 18 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Jerome Powers!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 20 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Jesus Christ!
The judges for this bout are Micheangelo Fripello, Chris Saunders and Josh West.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Christ looks for a takedown but Powers sprawls well.
Powers stuffs the takedown attempt from Christ. Christ gets slowly back to his feet.
Powers displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Christ.
Jerome Powers has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jesus Christ.
Christ dodges the punch combination from Powers.

Powers shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Christ is staying active underneath Powers, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Christ working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Powers doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Powers manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Powers drops back, looking for a kneebar! Christ looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Christ looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Christ!

Well, with Christ on his back, surely it's only a matter of time before Powers is tapping out... Can he escape the position?

Powers wants to control but Christ is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Powers works his way to full guard. Good work.

Powers stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Christ swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Christ looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Powers has picked Christ up and slammed him! Christ can't keep hold of the triangle and Powers manages to pass to side control!
Powers will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Powers tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.
Christ is looking to regain half guard here but Powers keeps moving and retains side control.

Powers really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Powers cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Christ bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!

Powers isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Christ stacks Powers on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Christ!

Powers tries to buck Christ off but Christ is having none of it.
Christ is looking to take a break and control but Powers is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Christ is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Christ is working for a kimura but Powers is defending it quite comfortably.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!



Christ fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Powers to the ground. Christ is now in Powers's guard.
Christ looking to sit in guard and control but Powers gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Christ looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Powers wants to free his trapped foot but Christ is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Powers cracks Christ with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Christ is looking to improve his position but Powers isn't that keen on the idea.

Christ gets back to half guard.
Powers wants to control but Christ is keeping him busy.

Christ is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Powers pulls his head out easily.
Powers is keen to just control but Christ is a slippery customer.

Powers trying to advance position but Christ counters by regaining guard.
Powers stands and throws Christ's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Powers goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Christ rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Powers's guard! Nice work there by Christ!

Powers escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Christ gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Christ drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Powers manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Christ has Powers in his guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Powers pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Christ is keeping the position for now.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Christ is trying to control the position but Powers postures up.

And that's the end of the fight!
Jerome Powers showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Powers has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
