Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sean Mitchell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mark Calahan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sean Mitchell has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Sean Mitchell!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mark Calahan!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, Dean Styles and Lou da Vinci.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mitchell throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Calahan's waist but Calahan gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Mitchell off to one side.
Mitchell fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Calahan dives in and grabs Mitchell's left leg, looking for a takedown. Mitchell pushes down on Calahan's head and hops out.
Nice takedown defense from Calahan. No joy for Mitchell on that attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Sean Mitchell. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Calahan shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Mitchell as he jumps to the side.

Mitchell rushes Calahan and presses him up against the cage.
Mitchell tries to score a body lock takedown but Calahan shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

Mitchell jumps guard and drags Calahan to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Mitchell is trying to control the position from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Mitchell wants to stand but Calahan is controlling the position.

Mitchell had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Calahan defends it easily.
Mitchell bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Calahan's guard.

Sean Mitchell has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Mitchell tries to close the distance and clinch but Calahan swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Mitchell shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Mitchell seems a little lost for a moment, as Calahan dominates the positioning.

You can see the frustration on Mitchell's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
