Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Raphael Alves (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jose Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). This should be fireworks!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Alves rushes Silva and presses him up against the cage.

Alves manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.

Silva drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Silva jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Silva working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Alves doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Alves manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Alves postures up in Silva's guard and throws a big left but Silva blocks it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Silva is on top in guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Silva is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Alves defends it well.

Silva uses his free foot to push down on Alves's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Alves.

Silva is working for a guillotine from mount but Alves frees his head quite easily.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Silva goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Alves turns into him and now he's in Silva's guard.
Silva is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Silva is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Alves has managed to free his arm - good work.
Alves wants to get back to his feet.

Silva is working for a kimura but Alves is defending it quite comfortably.
Alves is concentrating on defense, preventing Silva from advancing position.

Silva is looking for a kimura. It's pretty deep but Alves still has the half guard so he's probably OK. Oh, Alves has exploded into a beautiful escape there and after a quick scramble, he's ended up in side control on top! Nice work!

Silva blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Silva drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

The referee is keeping an eye on Alves - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
Alves seems to have come into the fight with the intention of avoiding any damage in the clinch, rather than actually showing any aggression.

Alves ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Alves no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Silva advances to half guard.
Alves tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.
Alves knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Silva on the ground.
Alves keeps control of the position for the meantime.

Silva is working for a submission of some sort.
Alves is doing well to control the position and prevent Silva from advancing to side control.

Alves wants to control but Silva is keeping busy and won't allow it.
