Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Xavier Styles (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tom Bob (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Styles ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Bob moves away.
Bob walks forward, straight into a front kick from Styles.
Styles fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.

Styles feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Bob avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Bob is trying to control the position but Styles postures up.

Styles gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Bob looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Styles is fending him off so far but Bob persists. Nope, Styles circles away and we're back to standing.

Bob shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Styles sprawls well. Styles wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Bob gets slowly back to his feet.

Bob shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Styles is trying to stand up here but Bob is controlling him well.
Bob wants to control but Styles is keeping him busy.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Styles lands with a straight right. Bob didn't see that one coming.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

It looks like Tom Bob has been cut.

Horrible takedown by Styles or perhaps it was just good defense by Bob which made him look bad.
Styles fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Styles closes the distance and clinches up with Bob, looking for a takedown. Styles pushes Bob against the cage but Bob circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Xavier Styles. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Bob shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Styles manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Bob looking to sit in guard and control but Styles gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Bob really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Styles. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Bob tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Styles wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Styles is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Bob will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.
